Our winning Bricklayer!

Chesterfield College's Clowne campus played host to a bricklaying competition, pitching students from Derby College and South East Derbyshire College against its own bricklaying learners in preparation for the upcoming SkillBuild and World Skills competitions.

In total, nine bricklaying students took part in the all-day competition, three from each college. A judging panel made up of tutors from each college marked each piece of work, gaining a Continuing Professional Development (CPD) certificate for their efforts.

The competing students' work was of a very high standard, but congratulations go to winner of the Senior category, our apprentice bricklayer Paul Moorwood!

Manor Oaks Studio, Sheffield

Goldwing Developments Ltd have successfully been awarded the contract to construct Manor Oaks Studios, which is the next phase of development on the historic site of Manor Lodge in Sheffield, and where the visitors centre was constructed by Goldwing earlier on this year.

The site comprises of many historic buildings and a scheduled ancient monument, which are all managed Green Estate Ltd.

The works will comprise of the construction of 4 Artists studio workshops, with some shared toilet facilities and associated works. The studio workshops are to be built around a central courtyard, with the corner studio workshop having a curved façade. The external will feature stone gabion walling and a green roof. The heating for the units is provided by a Daikin Altherma Air Source Heat Pump.

The Old Rectory, Screveton

Goldwing Developments prides itself on maintaining a close relationship with our clients, and this is just one of the reasons for repeat business. We are currently carrying out structural repair works to an out-building on a property in Newark for a previous client who has moved house.

Once planning consent has been given, we hope to carry out further works on this listed property, including a renovation of a Coach House to a home cinema and home gym.

New Build on Ringinglow Road, Sheffield

Goldwing are currently constructing a Waterproof Concrete basement for a new property in Sheffield. The basement is being constructed using the Sika waterproof concrete system.

Forest Lodge , Sheffield Health & Social Care Trust

Works recently began on Sheffield Health and Social are (NHS Trust) Forest Lodge buildings at Hillsborough.

Goldwing are carrying out the re-surfacing of a sports court and some external fencing together with internal refurbishments to provide 3 No. new bedrooms.
