The green wall is complete at Manor Oaks.

The green wall and gabion cladding is now complete on the Manor Oaks studios, and as you can see it looks rather splendid!

The green wall is an ANS vertical wall module system which comes complete with the plants and its own irrigation system. The walls were installed by local specialist Green Estate.

Gabion wall at Castleton.

Goldwing are currently installing a gabion retaining wall around a barn in the picturesque village of Castleton in the Peak District.

The wall is designed to prevent soil at the foot of Mam Tor, sliding into the building, which has been occurring for many years.

The works are being carried out in preparation for the barns refurbishment.
Goldwing have extensive experience in installing gabion retaining walls, and can provide further information on request.

Our winning Bricklayer!

Chesterfield College's Clowne campus played host to a bricklaying competition, pitching students from Derby College and South East Derbyshire College against its own bricklaying learners in preparation for the upcoming SkillBuild and World Skills competitions.

In total, nine bricklaying students took part in the all-day competition, three from each college. A judging panel made up of tutors from each college marked each piece of work, gaining a Continuing Professional Development (CPD) certificate for their efforts.

The competing students' work was of a very high standard, but congratulations go to winner of the Senior category, our apprentice bricklayer Paul Moorwood!

New House, Sheffield

Goldwing have secured the contract to construct a new high-spec 4 Bedroom house in Fulwood, Sheffield. The modern designed house will feature some green technologies such as, a green roof, triple glazing and a whole-house ventilation system.

Excavation works commenced in October and the project is due for completion in April 2011.

Premier Pitches, Sheffield

Goldwing has been constructing a vehicle wash-off system for Premier Pitches at their base near Chesterfield.

Premier Pitches are a specialist sports turf company ,who maintain and lay playing surfaces for many premier football and rugby teams. The vehicles was-off system is an ecological measure which involves a ByWater Services td sump system that recycles the water used in washing off the mud and sand from the Premier Pitches vehicles once they have carried out works to the pitches.
